Vinyl cutting is a method of signage application, when a sheet of vinyl is cut into the artwork of your choice to produce a design which is then applied to the substrate of choice.  if one is applying it to clothing then it is heat-pressed onto clothing. <\/p>\n

Vinyl, otherwise known as polyvinyl chloride, or PVC, is a thermoplastic material, which means that it can be reprocessed using heat. Not all materials can be heat-pressed though, as you can well imagine, putting nylon through a heat press would only leave behind a sticky gooey mess. If you want to purchase an item for heat-pressing, it’s generally safe to check the washing instructions on the back of the label, if it says ‘do not iron’, then it can’t be heat-pressed, unless those instructions are there to protect a design already on the item.<\/p>\n

You get different kinds of vinyl for printing purposes. The above is generally referred to as ‘heat flex’. In the first instance you get ordinary vinyl, which you can use for decals and other artworks in the category that needs a sticky side for you to stick onto objects, hence stickers are usually also made from this vinyl.<\/p>\n

Thirdly you can get printable heat vinyl also used for clothing and also applied using a heat-press. This vinyl is used for full colour printing which run though specialized printers\/cutters. The artwork is then weeded and then heat-pressed onto the garment.<\/p>\n

Matt vinyl is used for outdoor items such as banners, as it is durable and with it’s full-colour multiple graphics capability makes it an excellent material for promotions etc.<\/p>\n

Another type of vinyl is mesh-vinyl, otherwise known as contra-vision. This vinyl is the vinyl you see on motorists back windscreens. It has tiny holes in, allowing for perfect vision from the driver’s perspective, but on the outside it can have a full colour artwork printed on, as in the instance for company branding, usually used for advertising.<\/p>\n

The artwork is usually the company logo and\/or other text that the company\/person needs printing done with, although we do designs as well. All artwork will require approval in writing before printing and\/or pressing is done. For your artwork we suggest .PNG \/.CDR\/.AI format, as it is lossless when importing and is compatible with most imaging software. Please try not to use .JPEG\/JPG if you can help it, as it is very lossy which makes for a very low quality final product, we can not take responsibility for low quality artwork supplied by clients.<\/p>\n
